Devices enrolled in the Windows Phone Preview for Developers programs could soon get a new incremental update, as Microsoft is reportedly working on a new version that might roll out in the coming weeks.

NPU reports that Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 build 8.10.14226.0 is now being tested online and shipped to Lumia 535 devices in the APAC region. Lumia 535 units are now getting a touch screen fix, and it appears that, as part of the rollout, PfD models are also getting this new software update.

At this point, it's not known whether this new release will bring significant enhancements for devices or only minor improvements, but given the small version change, do not expect anything too surprising to be part of this release.

The existing PfD version is 8.10.14219 and brought us a quick toggle for mobile data, as well as an alpha version of Cortana in more countries, including Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. And still, there's no sign whether the next update will bring new features or only improvements, so the only thing we can do right now is wait and see what's new.

Even though there are no specifics as to when it could come out, expect the new update to ship anytime in the next couple of weeks.
