Microsoft is one of the companies that are betting big on the educational market, so it recently managed to sign a new deal with the Pasadena Independent School District in Texas to provide local students and teachers with access to Windows 8.1 and Office 365.

A total of 12,900 Dell Venue 11 Pro tablets running Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office 365 with OneNote will be provided to local schools as part of the deal, the company said, thus trying to make teaching and learning a bit easier.

“We believe in providing students with the best technology, and after carefully evaluating our device options, we concluded that the inking capabilities in Windows 8.1, combined with the power of OneNote, gave students and teachers the most engaging experience possible,” said Steve Wentz, chief technology officer for the Pasadena Independent School District.

This isn't the first time when the software giant signs such a deal with schools around the country, and as part of the YouthSpark initiative, the company also joined forces with the Chester County School District, the Cincinnati Country Day School (CCDS), and the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), all of which have decided to go on all-in on Windows 8 and Office 365 for both students and teachers.
