On March 20th, Microsoft made available for download a new iteration of its Antimalware Engine, currently at version 1.1.8202.0.

The new release is targeted at all of the company’s Microsoft Security Essentials and Forefront Client Security, Forefront Endpoint Protection, Windows Intune Endpoint Protection customers, the Redmond-based giant announced.

Additionally, the company has announced that the new engine has been first included in signature package 1.123.0.0.

The new release comes as part of the company’s tradition to update the AntiMalware engine on a monthly basis, and follows the previous version that was pushed out on February 20th.

In fact, the software giant announced in a notification a few days ago that the new release comes as part of the regular update of their antimalware technology, meant to address “the latest in the threat landscape.”
