Microsoft has just released the first updates aimed at Windows 8.1 Preview devices, thus trying to fix some of the bugs users found in this major Windows 8 overhaul.

According to a post on WindowsObserver.com, this new wave of updates is supposed to fix stalled IE11 downloads, crashing Windows Store apps, and other bugs affecting Google services.

As usual, all patches are being delivered via the integrated Windows Update option, so no further action is required from users.

Of course, these fixes are aimed not only at desktop computers and laptops running the new Windows 8.1 Preview, but also at tablet users who have already installed the RT version of the update.

More updates are expected to be released in the coming weeks, as users keep reporting issues in the Preview version of the operating system.
