Microsoft has just released a new version of its popular Pinball FX game for Windows 8, with the new version now distributed via the integrated Windows Store to all builds of the new operating system.

According to the official release notes published in the Store, the game comes with a new name (as it’s now called Pinball FX2), but also with several bug fixes supposed to make it work more smoothly on both the desktop and the tablet versions of Windows 8.

“Pinball FX is back, and it is better than ever! Pinball FX2 offers brand new tables and a host of new features and improvements, including a new state-of-the-art physics model that surpasses anything available so far,” the official description reads.

Probably the best thing about this game is that it comes with a freeware license and is completely optimized for the touch, so you can also play it on a Windows RT tablet.
