Microsoft has just released a new version of the Music app available in the Modern UI of Windows 8.1, introducing a new series of features aimed at both desktop and tablet users.

The new version of Music, which is now being delivered to users via the integrated Windows Store, comes with options to shuffle the entire music collection with just one tap, while you’re also allowed to play the most popular songs from your favorite artists straight from their detail pages.

The application continues to be offered to both Windows 8.1 and RT 8.1 users and relies on the same rich-feature package that includes options to import playlists from iTunes, manage your locally-stored songs, and listen to online radio.

In case you’re running Windows 8.1 with the default store settings, the app should be automatically deployed on your computer, but otherwise you need to manually download Music for Windows 8.1 on your device.
