Microsoft is trying to promote specific Windows 8 apps with new software categories every once in a while, so you shouldn’t be too surprised when new sections show up in the Store.

This time, the company is showcasing the best apps for star gazers and gamers who want to explore the cosmos, presenting a handful of tools supposed to help users check out “new planets, map the constellations and learn what lies beyond our galaxy.”

The new software category packs a number of freeware and shareware apps, as well as a few games, including Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars.

As usual, this app section will stay in the Store for a while until Microsoft decides to showcase a new specific category or newly released software for Windows 8 workstations.
