As part of the Patch Tuesday cycle, Microsoft rolled out updates for the Surface Pro tablets running the full version of Windows 8.1 Pro.

As compared to what people expected, the new firmware update isn’t supposed to fix the issues reported by users in December 2013, but only to improve the experience with Type and Touch Cover 2, according to the official release notes for the update.

“These updates improve the experience of using a second generation Surface Cover on your first generation Surface Pro running Windows 8.0, including touchpad performance and overall product stability,” Microsoft explained.

Of course, everybody’s still waiting for an update on the Surface Pro 2 bugs reported last month that are forcing some buyers to pay a visit to Microsoft stores and replace their devices with new ones.
