Microsoft announced yesterday that Outlook.com is no longer a beta service, so all users across the globe can register for an account at absolutely no cost.

Well, it appears that the company’s marketing efforts are quickly paying off, as Microsoft has managed to set a new record, with more than 1.5 million new users recorded in just a single day.

“And for the more than 1.5 million of you who joined Outlook.com since our launch last night, welcome and thank you!” the Outlook.com team said in a short tweet.

Of course, the Redmond-based technology giant will continue to advertise its email service, as the company confirmed in a blog post that several advertisements are scheduled to go live in the coming months all over the world to promote Outlook.com.
