The Windows Store is one of the features that’ll get major UI improvements when Windows 8.1 becomes available, but Microsoft has kept everything a secret until now.

The company decided, however, to show a quick shot of the reworked Windows Store at Computex 2013, revealing that it’s going to be redesigned to make it easier for users to find the apps they’re looking for.

Top apps in each category will be better showcased in the Store, as we can see in this screenshot published by WinBeta, while a new search bar reduces the time spent to open a specific app.

The Windows Store will also be the one and only way to get the new Windows 8.1, as Microsoft will distribute it freely to all users who have already purchased Windows 8. And still, updating won’t be mandatory, the company confirmed.
