Good news for Microsoft, as Windows 8 sales are still below expectations

Windows 8’s sales have failed to meet internal projections and one possible reason is apparently the lack of devices running Microsoft’s latest operating system.

That’s going to change very soon, as Samsung is planning to ship 19 million Windows 8 computers this year, according to International Business Times.

Jin Park, vice president of the IT solutions business at Samsung, has already confirmed that his company wants to make the most of Microsoft’s new OS with 19 million laptops, desktop computers and tablets, so this could only be excellent news for the Redmond-based technology titan.

Windows 8 sales are expected to take off in 2013, when the collapsing PC market is predicted to post a slight recovery and thus increase the number of sold devices running Microsoft’s new OS.
