Microsoft is set to unveil the RTM version of Windows 8.1 sometime this month, so the company has apparently started updating the built-in apps with new options.

The Video Metro tool available in the Store has been updated with new options that seem to be exclusively addressed to Windows 8.1 users.

For example, the release notes published in the Windows Store point to design enhancements with more emphasis on movie and TV art, better collection management, and several performance improvements supposed to make the app load faster and work without glitches.

As far as the other apps are concerned, the tech giant is expected to roll out even more updates in the coming weeks, as the final build of Windows 8.1 is just around the corner. More details on the other improvements will most likely emerge very soon.
