Microsoft has just announced that the Surface Pro 3 tablet, which is the most advanced Surface model to date, has met all GSA (General Services Administration) criteria, so government customers in the United States can also purchase it through this program.

This means that the Surface Pro 3 can finally be used by government departments, and chances are that Microsoft is already pursuing a deal with the United States authorities to make the device available to local officials as soon as possible.

Needless to say, this is quite an important milestone for Microsoft, as the company promotes the Surface Pro 3 as the right replacement for laptops in a wide array of industries, so bringing it into the United States government was at the top of the list of priorities.

The Surface Pro 3 was launched in May this year and comes with three different CPU options, namely Intel Core i3, i5, and i7. The top-of-the-range model also includes 8 GB of RAM and brings no less than 512 GB of storage space, which should be enough for all your files.

Pricing continues to be one of the most important setbacks when looking at the Surface Pro 3 as to a laptop replacement because the top model can be yours in the United States for $1,950 (1500 euro), which does seem a bit too much to pay for such a device. For the United States government, however, that shouldn’t be a problem at all.
