Microsoft has just confirmed that the Surface with Windows 8 Pro would go on sale in the United States and Canada on February 9, with prices to begin at $899 (€675).

As compared to the RT version, the Pro version of the tablet will be sold not only in Microsoft stores, but also online and at Best Buy and Staples in both the US and Canada.

While the device doesn’t come with a Touch Cover, each package includes a Surface Pen stylus to allow users to make the most of the desktop interface of Windows 8.

In addition, Microsoft has revealed that new designs for the Touch Cover would also be up for grabs, with available colors including red, cyan and magenta. These limited edition covers will be a bit more expensive than the standard version and will retail for $129.99 (€97).
