The company rolls out huge discount for Windows 8 in the UK

Microsoft officially ended its post-launch Windows 8 discount on February 1, so consumers who want to purchase the new operating system now have to pay the full price.

UK buyers, on the other hand, seem to be a bit luckier, as the company has just rolled out a new discount for Windows 8 Pro.

Even though the company hasn’t made this discount public, the Windows 8 Pro upgrade is now available on its website for only £44.99 (€52 / $67.5), down from the regular £190 (€220 / $285).

This discount makes Windows 8 Pro more affordable than the standard version of Windows, PCPro writes, which is currently available with a price tag of £99 (€115 / $149).

Pricing on the US website is unchanged, so this is most likely a special price aimed at UK buyers exclusively.
