Together with all the other Windows updates that reached the web in the last couple of days, Microsoft also used the Patch Tuesday cycle to release a new version of the Camera Codec Pack.

If you’re not familiar with this pack, the only thing that you need to know is that it helps you view a variety of device-specific file formats straight in Windows Explorer.

At this point, the Codec Pack includes the most popular formats used by top cameras out there, including models belonging to Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Panasonic, and Epson.

No details have been provided on this new release, but it most likely brings support for some new formats, so you better get it as soon as possible if you’re working with RAW camera files on a regular basis.
