If you're running Windows 8.1, there are a few updates waiting for you to download, including a new version of the Weather app that's available on both desktops and tablets.

The Weather app, which is powered by Bing, received a few improvements today, most of which are addressing bugs and issues found in the previous builds. The feature lineup remains unchanged, so you get the same powerful tools to access the 10-day and hourly forecasts for any configuration location, view the world weather, get alerts, see maps, and stay up to date with the forecast using the live tile.

“Designed for Windows, featuring beautiful weather images, the Weather app puts control at your fingertips. Compare weather from multiple providers, check radar maps and view historical weather. Get current weather information for your location and for the other places you care about, like a family member’s city or your next vacation destination,” the app description reads.

Of course, the update is being delivered to both desktops and tablets, as the app also supports Windows RT, which is Microsoft's version of Windows 8 designed for ARM-based devices.

Overall, this new version must be installed on all computers running Windows 8 and 8.1, so download the Weather app right now if you don't want to get it from the store and you wish to install it manually.
