Microsoft today rolled out updates for several Metro apps installed on Windows 8, including the Maps tool powered by Bing.

According to the official release notes published in the Windows Store, the app comes with walking and transit directions, but also with dedicated options to find nearby locations by category.

In addition, the Maps app has been updated with venue packs, but also with a people picker to quickly find addresses from your contacts. The app also brings improvements to personalization, so you can create your own favorites, while also providing users with clickable landmarks and improved navigation.

Last but not least, Microsoft is also trying to get closer to its users with a new “Report” button that allows everyone to send any encountered issue to the company.
