A new version of the app is shipped to users

Windows Phone users are getting a new version of the extras+info app through the store as we speak, but the company hasn't provided any details on what exactly is new in this particular release.

Usually, the company rolls out updates for this app to correct OS information display bugs, so today's new version could come to address some issues found after more devices received the Denim firmware update.

Microsoft has recently confirmed that all Lumia models should get Denim by the end of February and now we're receiving reports that the new firmware arrived on new phones across the world, including low-end models in markets such as India.

The software giant is clearly speeding up the process in order to make Denim available on more phones as soon as possible, as the rollout first started in December 2014.

Due to the delays that caused flagships to get Denim two months after the rollout officially started, Microsoft was once again criticized for the way it handles software updates, so the company is apparently working at full speed to ship it to all devices by the end of the month.

The new version of the app should thus display the OS version correctly on all devices getting the firmware update, so go ahead and download extras+info right away on your Windows Phone too.
