Windows 9 is now considered Microsoft’s only chance to keep users on the Windows platform, even though Redmond claims that Windows 8.1 has all the things they would need these days.

DeviantArt designer Chris Lombardo has created a brand new Windows 9 design that imagines the interface of the future operating system, even though we must admit from the very beginning that Microsoft would most likely ignore it.

As you can see, the concept radically changes the desktop, moving the taskbar at the top of the screen, making Windows 9 looking more like Ubuntu. All windows come with transparency for a more modern look, while the titlebar is now smaller and still flat.

As far as Windows 9 is concerned, word is that Microsoft could launch it next year, with the first beta version projected to be unveiled in January 2014.
