The term “button” probably sends chills down Microsoft’s spine after the Windows 8 saga, but the company is now trying to convince more companies to embrace Skype using a strategy based on this concept.

The technology giant is promoting a quick way to add Skype call buttons to a company’s website, thus allowing customers and visitors to quickly get in touch with a specific business.

“Businesses using Skype can now add a (free) button to the company website. Whether on a computer or mobile device, customers can reach you directly with a single click of the button,” Microsoft explained.

It all comes down to a simple form that requires you to write down your Skype name, the action you’d like the button to do (call or chat), and to customize the design of the resulting button. Simply copy and paste the code in your webpage and you are ready to go.
