The Surface with Windows 8 Pro was officially released on Saturday, with Microsoft confirming that consumer response for the tablet was “amazing.”

All those who purchase a Surface Pro will receive mainstream support until July 10, 2017, according to Microsoft, while the extended support will end on January 10, 2023.

The Surface with Windows 8 Pro runs the full version of Microsoft’s operating system which, in its turn, will see mainstream support ending on January 9, 2018.

The Surface RT, on the other hand, will no longer receive updates after April 11, 2017.

The Surface with Windows 8 Pro is currently available in both the United States and Canada in two different models, with 64 GB and 128 GB of storage space, respectively. Pricing for the entry-level model starts at $899 (€671), while the top-of-the-range version comes with a price tag of $999 (€746).
