Microsoft will officially release this month’s Patch Tuesday updates tomorrow, so make sure you connect to the Internet to automatically download the release fixes in about 48 hours.

Redmond will roll out a total of five bulletins, two of which are rated as critical and the rest considered to be important.

The majority of Windows versions will be patched tomorrow, with one of the bulletins addressing a flaw in Windows 7, 2008, 8 and RT. Windows Vista and XP are not affected by the vulnerability. Internet Explorer won’t be part of this new Patch Tuesday rollout.

“With only five bulletins, it is quite small again for the second time this year with January's four-bulletin release,” Wolfgang Kandek, CTO of Qualys, said.

“Also for the second time, there is no update to Internet Explorer, which we have grown accustomed to seeing in the monthly releases. We definitely expect an update next month in March, at the very least to get the newest browser out in front of the PWN2OWN competition at CanSecWest that is held on March 12-14.”
