Microsoft recently launched a 256 GB version of its Surface tablet in Japan, but it now seems like the software maker is fully prepared to bring the device in the US.

A retail listing found by WPCentral on CDW.com reveals that Microsoft could sell the device for $1,199 (€915), but the Softies are yet to release an official comment on this.

As you can see for yourselves, the only difference between this model and the other versions is the available storage space, so you should only purchase this one if you have tons of files to store on your tablet.

Word is that Microsoft is already working on the second-generation Surface tablet, with the updated product range to include an 8-inch unit running Windows 8.1. No official info has been provided on this one, but expect the new tablet to go on sale by year end.
