Lumia 535 is the first Windows Phone wearing Microsoft’s badge, but as many users have reported in the last few days, it’s also the first model to be affected by a weird glitch that causes the touchscreen to be less responsive at random times, especially when multi-touch is required.

Microsoft has already confirmed that there’s some sort of lag on the Lumia 535, not only in apps and games, but also when browsing menus, and today it has stated that a fix will be released on December 27.

The company has said in a statement that a new update will be available for Lumia 535 next week and will improve touch functionality of the dual-SIM model, as until now, the single SIM version doesn’t seem to be affected by this particular glitch.

At this point, Microsoft has only confirmed that models in specific markets will be updated on December 27, including Vietnam, but we’ve contacted the company for more information and will update the article when and if we get an answer.

In the meantime, if you’re still experiencing the problem, the easiest way to deal with it is to disable Screen Magnifier. So go over to Settings > Ease of Access, and make sure that the Screen Magnifier option is not active. No phone reboot is required.
