Microsoft has just announced that Visual Studio 2013 would go live on November 13, but it turns out that MSDN subscribers will be allowed to download it a lot sooner.

ZDNet is reporting that the RTM version of the software product is expected to be published on MSDN on October 18, which is exactly the same day when Microsoft is set to publicly unveil the new Windows 8.1 operating system.

Sales of Visual Studio 2013 will start on November 1 for volume licensing customers, while retailers and Microsoft stores will make it available soon after the public launch.

In case you are running a previous version of Visual Studio, such as the 2012 build, you will be allowed to purchase an upgrade to VS2013 for only $99 (€73), as part of a special discount running through January 31, 2014. After that, a full license will sell for $299 (€220).
