Tech giant Microsoft will open a new specialty store in downtown Seattle, as part of its attempt to bring the latest products closer to buyers across the United States.

According to a report by BizJournals, the Pacific Place outlet will be on the third store of the shopping center and will provide access to a rather limited product range, including Surface tablets and Windows 8.

Even though the company hasn’t mentioned whether the new store is a permanent or a temporary one, it’s obviously supposed to support the adoption of Windows 8, as the operating system is soon going to receive a major update at the BUILD developer conference.

As you have probably heard by now, Windows 8.1 Preview will be unveiled next week, while the stable version is expected to be launched in October.
