OneDrive will become the unique destination for your music

Microsoft is working on a new series of updates for its cloud-based storage service OneDrive, which could turn it into your one destination for music.

Basically, what Microsoft is trying to do is turn OneDrive into an all-in-one service that could be used not only to store documents and photos, but also the music you buy through Xbox Music. After saving your music in the cloud, you will be able to access it from any other device, as soon as you’re logged in with your account, Neowin writes.

What’s more, Microsoft is also working to add support for some other popular music apps out there, including iTunes, as well as streaming options, so your music can become available not only on Windows devices, but also on iOS and Android.

Pricing details are not available at this point, but it’s believed that OneDrive with music support could be offered free of charge and you might only be charged for a music subscription that would provide access to more content.

Details are very scarce right now, but the new OneDrive could be introduced next year, either during the summer or together with Windows 10.

According to sources, the next version of Windows is scheduled to see daylight in late summer or early fall 2015, so OneDrive could be updated at about the same time.
