Stardock released a new minor build for ModernMix application, their solution for running Windows 8 apps in their own window, on the classic desktop.

Version 1.0.5 of the program includes background sound support for the apps that don’t support it explicitly, such as Netflix. A new option is available in the context menu, allowing you to always force full-screen mode on a modern app.

When running ModernMix for the first time you are reminded about the top right corner overlay.

The code of the application has been improved so that it detects if the launch of an app is from the Start Screen or not.

Repairs are also available in the changelog for this release of ModernMix, and the developer addressed problems such as naming of some apps in the list that had yet to be run.

On the same note, Netflix playback when the window is inactive on a secondary display should no longer be an issue. The full list of modifications is available here.
