Microsoft claims that it wants only quality apps in the Store, but this isn't happening

CEO Steve Ballmer said during the BUILD developer conference last month that Microsoft is not necessarily focused on the overall number of the apps in the Windows Store, but rather on their quality, as users need powerful programs to install on Windows RT and 8.

And still, the number of spam entries available in the Store right now is rising and new fake apps are approved every day.

For example, two applications that got listed today are called 7Zip for Windows 8 and WhatsApp Messenger Plus, both available with a $9.99 (€8.90) and created by a developer called Angry Birds Pro.

Of course, they're not the real apps that are only available on desktop PCs and mobile phones right now, so users could pay this hefty price tag to basically buy nothing.

Both applications are supposed to include tutorials to help you make the most of 7Zip and WhatsApp, while also providing “valuable” information on how to send and receive messages for free.

So much for the quality.
