MusicTube continues to be one of the most popular Metro apps in the store, allowing users to view YouTube videos and listen to music in the background with ease.

An update released today comes with some pretty important fixes that are specifically aimed at VEVO, the service that until now was a bit difficult to access with MusicTube due to a number of issues experienced when clicking on HD videos. Starting with this update, however, everything should work a bit smoother, no matter what service you're trying to open.

The feature lineup remains pretty much unchanged, so beside the aforementioned improvements, this new version doesn't bring anything new.

You can still watch HD music videos, listen to music in the background, pin your favorite artists to the Start screen, share videos on Facebook, customize the live tile and run the app in snap view mode side by side with another program.

Of course, support for both Windows 8 and 8.1 is being offered and the application can also work on Windows RT devices, such as Microsoft's very own Surface RT.

Overall, this update clearly comes in handy especially to existing users, but everyone who wants to give it a try can download MusicTube for Windows 8.1 manually and install it right away.
