The official Netflix app offered to Windows 8.1 users has received a new update today, so consumers who are running the operating system on either tablets or PCs should have a look in the store for a new version.

Netflix hasn't mentioned what exactly is new in this build, which most likely means that we get bug fixes and performance improvements supposed to make the app run smoother.

The app continues to be offered free of charge to all users and a one-month trial is also offered in case you don't yet have a subscription in order to try out full services without paying.

“Netflix is the world’s leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies. Get the free app as a part of your Netflix membership and you can instantly watch thousands of TV episodes & movies. If you are not a Netflix member sign up for Netflix and start enjoying immediately with our one-month free trial,” the updated app description that's published in the store reads.

The new version of the app is delivered through the store, but those who can't see the update yet or want to install it manually can download Netflix for Windows 8.1 all by themselves using this link.
