There are many unknown things about Windows 8.1, but one thing is for sure: the next Windows release will bring back the Start button, even though it won’t launch a Start Menu.

Instead, the Windows 8.1 Start button will get users to the Start screen, as Microsoft apparently thinks that nobody would ever need just a single menu when they can replace it with a full screen.

As you can see in this new clip, the Start button is always visible on the desktop, while it completely disappears when entering the Metro UI. Still, users can easily access it by simply moving the mouse cursor in the lower left corner.

In addition, Microsoft will also provide users with a dedicated option to turn the Start button off completely, just in case they love the new Windows 8 UI more.
