As I’ve told you not a long time ago, Microsoft has compiled another version of Windows 8.1 Update 1, the first update that’s supposed to bring quite a lot of improvements to the newly-launched Windows 8.1.

Now famous leaker WZor has published a screenshot with build number 9600.16608, which doesn’t bring any major changes, but keeps the controversial boot-to-desktop feature turned on by default.

It appears that Microsoft might after all allow PC makers to ship devices running Windows 8.1 Update 1 with this feature enabled, even though it’s not yet clear whether Redmond wants to make this setting default on all computers.

This particular feature has been implemented in Windows 8.1 as a way to allow PC users to boot directly to desktop and skip the Start screen, as many turned to third-party software for a more seamless booting process.
