Google doesn’t intend to develop any other apps aimed at Windows 8

Google has already launched its very own search app for Windows 8, but the company won’t release any other software solution specifically aimed at Microsoft’s latest operating system.

Clay Bavor, the product management director at Google Apps, told V3 that Google would continue to focus on iOS and Android apps, while new projects for Windows 8 and Windows Phone platforms would be started in case their overall number of users grows up significantly.

“We have no plans to build out Windows apps. We are very careful about where we invest and will go where the users are but they are not on Windows Phone or Windows 8,” he said. “If that changes, we would invest there, of course.”

It remains to be seen, however, whether Google still plans to develop a Windows 8 version of Google Chrome, as the company has already launched a preview in mid-2012.
