Even though several hardware manufacturers have announced plans to release new Windows RT tablets, this won’t happen this spring, Tami Reller, the chief financial officer for the Windows division said in an interview.

The Redmond-based technology giant is focused on getting the existing Windows RT tablet closer to buyers, Reller told Bloomberg.

In addition, the Windows executive confirmed that Samsung won’t sell its Windows RT tablet in the United States, at least not for the moment, so the company may change its plans in the future.

Samsung Executive Mike Abary said last month that Windows RT remained a confusing OS, so bringing the device in the US would require additional training to make sure the tablet could sell in high numbers.

“When we did some tests and studies on how we could go to market with a Windows RT device, we determined there was a lot of heavy lifting we still needed to do to educate the customer on what Windows RT was,” Abary explained.
