Barnes & Noble has launched a new version of the official Nook app, introducing not only Windows 8.1 support, but also availability for 32 countries and 21 languages.

The application, which continues to offer support for both desktops and tablets, is now available in several European countries, including Spain, Romania, Portugal, Norway, Netherlands, Italy, and France.

Microsoft account support is also offered for those who wish to read and shop, but several free books are also offered for free for those who are trying to discover the great benefits of this app.

“The app even comes loaded with free book samples. And so you never lose your place, the NOOK app syncs the last page you've read across your tablet and PC. No matter which device you use, always pick up right where you left off. With NOOK, you can read what you love anywhere you like,” the app description reads.

Of course, it remains free of charge for all users, so just download Nook for Windows 8.1 and start reading the newest books on your tablet.
