Users are still reporting issues that were supposed to be fixed by the new firmware

Microsoft recently rolled out a new firmware update for Surface Pro 2 tablets in an attempt to correct some of the issues caused by the December 2013 version, but it turns out that not everyone is getting the new release.

According to users who turned to Microsoft’s Community forums looking for support on these issues, some devices are still suffering from the sleep to wake crash and reboot issue, despite Microsoft’s continuous efforts to address the problems.

“Clearly people are still having the sleep to wake crash/reboot issue,” one user explained.

“On the advice of surface support I installed the new firmware, performed a reset and made sure all updates were applied. First thing I tried was a sleep wake cycle and sure enough it failed!” another one added.

Microsoft is most likely aware of all these issues, so expect another firmware release to be announced in the coming weeks.
