Opera Software has rolled out a fresh update for Next development channel today. The new build number is 16.0.1196.55 and the developer informs that it is very close to migrate to the stable channel.

One of the highlights in this revision is the fully working Off-Road mode as all images should now finish loading. Off-Road mode takes advantage of server-side compression in order to deliver better browsing speeds. The effect is especially noticeable on slow connections.

Stability and functional issues have also been eliminated as the developer got rid of a bug that caused the browser to crash when clicking a link in a page opened from stash.

Furthermore, the Speed Dial folder should no longer be misplaced on second load in custom builds. The full list of modifications available in this release is available here.
