FutureMark has just announced that PCMark 8 Professional Edition now comes with full compatibility with Windows 8.1 and implements new options for testing OpenCL.

PCMark 8 brings a total of five different benchmark tests and supports Internet Explorer 11, making it easier for users to put their new computer to test.

The fresh release also packs a few other improvements, including updates for the SystemInfo scan that is now at least 50 percent faster and progress windows that display the estimated time for each test.

“If your system has an older version of PCMark 8 installed, you should manually uninstall it using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel before installing this update. You should also manually uninstall SystemInfo,” FutureMark warns.

There’s no trial version available at this point, but PCMark will most likely roll out a downloadable package anytime soon, so we promise to keep you posted.
