The latest update for PS3 Media Server is to build 1.82 and it brings to the table repairs touching especially on video engines.

The developer did away with a bug that affected FFMpeg by disabling it for compatible files. Also fixed is a glitch with the audio channel selection.

In the case of MEncoder, there are fixes for the display of embedded subtitles instead of an external source and for handling of per-renderer aspect-ratio settings.

Audio-wise, support for 24-bit FLAC files with tsMuxer has been restored and now there is support for M4A items encoded with Fraunhofer AAC.

New in this release is the VLCWebVideo engine and multi-threading support in the case of VLC engine. The full list of changes is available here.

At the moment, version 1.82 is available only for Windows and Linux, but the Mac version can be downloaded from this link as soon as the update is released.
