Even though the majority of apps available in store is offered free of charge, it turns out that interest in paid apps is growing, with statistics showing that downloads for this kind of Metro tools skyrocketed last month.

TechCrunch is reporting that paid game downloads increased by 34.12 percent in November, reaching a record 1,311,209 hits during the month.

As far as free games are concerned, they recorded an increase of 13.41 percent to 16,744,484 downloads.

While there is no doubt that the Windows Store is growing, Microsoft still needs to tackle an important issue that lets spam be listed for download for both tablet and desktop users.

At this point, there are more than 130,000 apps listed in store, but many of them are actually fake apps trying to capitalize on the popularity of desktop software solutions or games that are yet to be ported to Windows 8. Microsoft has promised to tackle this issue and put the focus on quality, so let’s just hope that spam apps disappear soon.
