The lack of apps in the Windows Store is considered one of the major shortcomings in Windows 8, so Microsoft continues its efforts to convince developers across the world to port their software tools to its new operating system.

The company has recently signed a deal with a startup company called PreApps, whose service allows users to preview the apps supposed to be published in the Windows Store before they go public.

This would help developers create better apps based on users’ feedback, Microsoft believes, so software creators who want to register for an account can do it for free until April 11.

“PreApps is all about mobile application developers creating and building a relationship with their users BEFORE they launch their applications, The benefits of this synergy, particularly for the developer is immense,” Microsoft explained.

PreApps, which is also available on some other platforms such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows Phone, currently holds only a handful of Windows 8 apps, but the overall number is expected to grow in the coming weeks as a result of this new offer.
