If you’re like us and you want to read news as soon as it’s published, there’s no doubt that this app comes in really handy on your Windows Phone device.

The so-called News Live Tiles does exactly what its name suggests: it creates a live tile on your home screen, displaying the latest news from a user-defined source along with a short summary. If you tap the tile, the app fires up the browser and lets you read the entire piece of news really fast.

One of the things we like about this app is the overall simplicity. You won’t have to spend hours to configure it, so you just have to search for a source, create a live tile, configure its appearance, pin it to Start and you’re good to go.

Only the essential options are being offered, so you won’t spend a whole day trying to figure out which feature is which. And it has pretty much all news sources out there, so you don’t have to manually add the site you wish to monitor. But that’s possible too, so again this is really helpful.

Obviously, the app is free of charge and works on all Windows Phone devices. It doesn’t really drain your battery and requires an active data connection to refresh news sources. Oh, and it also comes with transparency for the live tile.
