Today, Microsoft Advertising has announced a new campaign with Renault that would bring an interactive advertising experience right in Windows 8 Metro apps.

Microsoft says that the entire campaign has been optimized to be displayed in Windows 8.1 Metro apps on touch-capable devices, but the ads are also embedded in programs available on desktop computers and laptops as well.

“The Ads-in-Apps campaign on Windows 8 provides a stunningly beautiful and engaging platform through which we're able to highlight Renault's chief designer Laurens van den Acker's 'cycle of life' concept and the way that our cars and vans combine both style and functionality,” Matt Lamprell, digital brand communications manager for Renault UK, was quoted as saying by The Drum.

The new advertisements will be displayed in basically every single Bing and Xbox app available for download on Windows 8, but a number of programs that are said to be relevant to Renault’s target audience will also serve them.

The video you can watch above provides an in-depth look at what the ads are going to look like on the touch-optimized UI of Windows 8.1, so hit the play button and let us know what you think in the comment box after the jump.
