RetroUI is one of the Start Menu apps that now work on the newly-launched Windows 8.1, with Thinix, the company behind the project, rolling out a major version this morning.

RetroUI 4 brings not only support for Windows 8.1, but also new Start buttons and Start Menu skins that match the style of Windows 7, as well as options to pin and launch any 8.1 app.

What’s more, you can now quickly access power options, launch the Charms bar or the Start screen, and pin and load favorite websites with just a few clicks.

RetroUI works only on Windows 8.1 and does not support Windows 8, which means that users who stick to the original modern platform need to install the old version.

As a conclusion, if you’re already moved to Windows 8.1 and you’re now trying to make the OS look more familiar, download RetroUI 4.0 and bring back the traditional Start Menu on your new system.
