It’s been a while since Sandboxie received an update, but this weekend the developer released a new revision.

Sandboxie 3.74 brings to the table a hefty set of improvements and fixes. Starting with this build, the application displays a short tutorial at first launch, which can also be called manually from the Help menu.

However, more importantly, the current release is compatible with Windows 8 RTM (build 9200). Also, it now supports high DPI display modes.

The repairs encompassed in this revision refer to usability issues with Sandboxie Start Menu when the interface is not English, a problem with SBIE2218 appearing in some "Run as administrator" elevation scenarios.

Another modification is that the Lingering Programs mechanism will not stop programs set as a linger program, if the program in question is showing a window.
