Microsoft has just announced that it is donating $100,000 (€78,000) to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, as the popular American Idol host and owner of the non-profit group has officially opened the Seacrest Studios at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

In addition, the Redmond-based technology company is donating two Surface tablets to the Seacrest Studios, the company said in a release.

Selena Gomez and Ryan Seacrest haven’t missed the occasion to give Surface a spin, as they both attended the event. While we don’t know exactly if they liked the device, Microsoft says that Selena used Skype to connect to friends and families via the Internet.

“Microsoft’s donation of Surface tablets will be a great technology enhancement to the studio, and their broader support will help us expand our footprint across the nation,” said Meredith Seacrest, executive director, Ryan Seacrest Foundation.
