As we told you not long ago, Microsoft published a new version of its Skype client for Windows 8 in the Windows Store, bringing a number of fixes to all builds of the company’s new operating system.

The release notes published in the Store reveal that this new version of Skype for Windows 8 comes with greater control over your contacts, with the option to block, which is most likely an improvement to the features introduced in the previous release.

In addition, Skype 1.6.0.115 for Windows 8 brings performance improvements, so the application should work and run a bit faster, regardless of whether you’re using it on the desktop or on the tablet flavor of Microsoft’s new OS.

Last but not least, this new release packs general fixes addressing previously reported bugs so, in the end, Windows 8 users should benefit from improved stability and better performance.
