Microsoft has started a major reorganization process earlier this year, with the upper management shift to bring new heads for a number of divisions within the company.

While it’s not yet clear whether his departure is part of this reorganization or not, Corporate Vice-President for Skype Mark Gillett has decided to leave Microsoft for another job.

AllThingsD is reporting that Gillett told Microsoft’s employees about his decision in an internal memo, explaining that he’s heading to another job, but without disclosing any specifics.

Mark Gillett has been with Skype for several years, being part of the service even before the Microsoft acquisition in 2011. It’s not yet clear if Microsoft’s outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer has found someone suitable for the job, but more details on this are very likely to be provided soon.
